As Iowa’s 2025-26 girls and boys high school wrestling seasons race toward late January/mid-February finales, respectively, North Tama’s squads have continued to find success on the mats.

During the Jan. 11 North Mahaska Invitational, the Redhawk girls finished third with 98 points out of 10 teams behind LeMars in second (114.5 points) and Cardinal in first (130 points).

Both senior Briar Blake (170 pounds) and junior Addison ‘Addy’ Hochstetler (145 pounds) earned gold in their respective brackets while senior Ava Monat (130 pounds), sophomore Olivia Youngblood (120 pounds), and sophomore Grace Dvorak (105 pounds) all took silver.

Also at North Mahaska, the Redhawk boys took seventh out of a dozen scoring teams with top-ranked senior Kolt Knaack going 3-0 to finish first at 150 pounds and sophomore Max Monat taking third at 113 pounds.

Roughly a week later on Friday, Jan. 17, the Redhawk girls competed at the Perry Girls Wrestling Tournament where they took fourth out of 11 scoring teams.

The top two wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the 2025 Iowa High School Girls Wrestling State Tournament set for Feb. 6-7 at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
