LA PORTE CITY – The Union Knights football team ended their season in the playoffs in late October. The Knights finished the season 3-6 and collected wins over Aplington-Parkersburg, Jesup, and Vinton-Shellsburg.

THANK YOU to seniors Brayden Bohnsack, Evan Hanus, Wyatt Walker, Andrew Sadler, Justice Luke, Briar Mast, Hunter Anderson, Eric Neipert, Owen Hennings, Zury Sueser, and our 12th Man, the late Gavin Rohrbach. Your contributions to the Union football program are appreciated and will never be forgotten.

The Knights graduate quarterback Andrew Sadler, leading running back Briar Mast, and leading receiver Justice Luke. The Knights return strong experience on the defensive side of the ball. Juniors Brock Bergmeier, Caden Sorensen, Eric Zak, and Kolton O’Connor were the top four Knight tacklers on the season. Zak and O’Connor also combined for 5.5 sacks. Several sophomores also collected significant playing time including Gavin Frederiksen, Garrett Kaalberg, Stratton Luke, Jackson Youngblut, and Holden Craft.
