Redhawk softball hosts ‘2024 Softball Olympics’
TRAER – As part of the 2024 Olympic Games which were held in Paris this year, the North Tama softball team hosted its own ‘Softball Olympics’ competition. Winners included:
*Briar Blake and Addy Hochstetler who took first in Quik Toss
*Faith Dvorak in first, Briar Blake in second, and Lily Sell in third in the Tire Toss
*Lily Sell in first, Briar Blake in second, and Gabby Seda in third in the Long Ball Hitter competition
*Harper Rausch in first and Delanie Taylor in second in the ‘Pop Fly Queen’ competition
*Addy Hochstetler in first, Violet Seda in second, and Gabby Seda in third for Queen of the Cage
*Gabby Seda, Faith Dvorak, and Adelyn Sienknecht took top honors in the Long Toss competition
The players also voted on the 2024 Team Awards following the completion of the postseason including:
*Gabby Velasco taking the award for Team Spirit
*Gabby Sheda winning the coveted Golden Glove award
*Adelyn Sienknecht taking the Slugger award
*Danika Wrage and Kinsley Even receiving the Redhawk Award
*Harper Rausch earning the Most Improved Player award
Adelyn Sienknecht also received the 2024 MVP award in her first (and final – she was a senior!) season with the Redhawks.
