North Tama boys compete at Cowpath Relays

The North Tama Boys track team competed in the Cowpath Relays on Monday, May 4.

In the field events the Redhawks had three fifth place finishes. Matt Popelka threw the discus 115’1 1/2″, Taylor Kvidera had a jump of 5’4″ in the high jump and Brendon Boerm jumped 18’2″ in the long jump.

In the running events David Robinson had a sixth place finish in the 3200m run in a time of 10:44.87. Robinson also finished the 1600m run in sixth place in a time of 5:08.70.

Dylan Youel earned a second place finish in the high hurdles in a time of 15.25.

The 200m dash earned Boerm a sixth place finish in a time of 24.00.

The 4×800 relay team of Alex Kubik, Kvidera, Jordan Mask and Sean Dengler finished in a time of 9.34.53 for sixth place.

The shuttle hurdle team of Jeremy Wrage, James Weida, Boerm and Youel earned a second place finish with a time of 1:02.74 which again has set a new school record. The relay team has broke the school record several times this year.

The team ended the track meet with a total of 27 points.
