Lori Bayles Yuska

Lori Ann Bayles Yuska was born at Iowa Methodist Hospital In Des Moines to Charles Courtney and Helen Joan Bayles on December 7, 1958. Lori lived her 66 years as a devoted follower of Christ and entered into the presence of the Lord on January 27, 2025.

Lori spent her childhood in Oelwein, Iowa and after graduation from Oelwein High School in 1977 she attended the University of Northern Iowa. Over the years she was employed by companies in Iowa, Missouri and Florida before returning to Cedar Falls where she worked for Advanced Heat Treat Corp. as the Expediting Coordinator. Lori always felt going to work each day at Advanced Heat was like being with family.

She married Thomas Yuska and was the proud mother of her son Jesse Tyler Alexander. Lori and Tom moved to the family farm in Hudson, Iowa and enjoyed country life. She loved her cats, going to flea markets, the annual Irish Fest, Sturgis Falls and trips to Sanibel Island, Florida. She was also a big fan of Iowa Hawkeye football, the KC Chiefs and Vancouver Canucks.

Lori faced multiple myeloma blood cancer with strength and courage for over four years. Her oncology and transplant doctors and nurses became friends in their quest to offer relief. She was confident that this was God’s path and found comfort in surrendering to her journey. Lori died comfortably at her home with her husband by her side.

In addition to her husband Tom, son Jesse and his wife Erin, and Jesse’s dad Robert Alexander, Lori is survived by her sisters Lindy (George) and Deborah (Charles). She also leaves behind her dear and lifelong friend Renee Myott. Lori will be missed by in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
