Janice Hennings

Janice “Jan” Hennings, 64, of Charles City, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service for Jan Hennings will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home with Chaplin Al Polito with St. Croix Hospice officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Janice Lynn (Holland) Hennings, born on December 19, 1960, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the cherished daughter of Marty and Bert (Reed) Holland, of Charles City, Iowa. She grew up alongside her two sisters, Donna Holland and Pamela Holland, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime.

Janice dedicated her life to caring for others, building a meaningful career in caretaking that reflected her compassionate nature. Outside of work, she found joy in crafting, gardening and baking–hobbies that brought beauty and warmth to those around her. Above all else, Janice treasured time spent with family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ryan Hennings; her six children: Stephen Sheffner and daughter-in-law Chelsie, Melissa Sheffner, Marnie, Kim, Ernie, and Zach Hennings; as well as seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life; her mother, Bert Holland; and her two sisters: Donna Holland and Pamela Holland; Janice also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her kindness and love.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, Marty Holland; and her nephew, Greg Howe.

Her legacy of love and care will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she held dear.
