Katherine M. Mundt, 86, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the age of 86. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home with burial at West Union Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Cedar Valley Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.

Katherine Marie Mundt was born on July 7, 1931, in Waterloo, the daughter of John and Catherine (Ludovissy) Tharp. She graduated from Waterloo West High in 1948. In 1951, Katherine was united in marriage to Raymond Mundt in Dubuque. Katherine worked for several businesses when they needed help, but mainly took care of her children. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, puzzles, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of the Traer Golf Course.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters. Katherine is survived by her husband Raymond of Traer; four children, Judy (William) Burghart of Marion, Michelle (Kevin) Sorensen of Traer, Doug (Irene) Mundt of Traer, and Steve (Karen) Mundt of Clutier; 13 grandchildren, Amy, Kristin, Heather, Rob, Tonia, Sarah, Whitney, Tye, Amber, Seraysa, Andrea, Jason, and Trisha; and 22 great grandchildren, Zayne, Teagan, Cooper, Spencer, Dalton, Landon, Kahial, Jordan, Jayden, Jocelyn, Brayden, Tylyn, Stone, Marshall, Aubrey, Ava, Kippin, Desiree, Tim Jr., Laikyn, Mara, and Pearl.
