Dysart Historical Society annual meeting and program set for April 27

DYSART – The Dysart Historical Society will hold its annual meeting and a program on Sunday, April 27, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Agriculture Museum. Following the brief annual meeting, Roy Behrens of Dysart will present a program on interesting, little known bits of Iowa history. He will be sharing a couple of short articles from his new book, Dreams of Fields: Memory Traces of Iowa’s Past, which is set for publication in mid-August. He will also share how and why he wrote the book and answer questions.
Behrens is a writer, designer and artist who taught graphic design and illustration at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 2018. He is the author of a number of books and articles and is recognized worldwide for his work. He was originally from Independence, Iowa, and has many interesting stories of Iowa to share.
Everyone is invited to spend part of Sunday afternoon at the museum. Following the program, pie and coffee will be served.
