TRAER – Brick dedications are again being offered as part of the Taylor Park Military Memorial in an effort to add a new battlefield cross to the site.

Traer resident Dahn Kennedy, founder of the “Hometown Hearts” Project, is spearheading the effort for the City of Traer much as she did last December during the first round of brick sales.

Proceeds from this second round – as well as any donations received – will be used to add a battlefield cross to the memorial which is located in the southwest corner of the park near the intersection of Hwy 63 (Main Street) and Fifth Street.

The bricks, which cost $100 each, are designed to honor those who have served or are currently serving in the military. Brick inscriptions may consist of a maximum of three lines at 13 spaces per line.

Kennedy is taking orders now through March 15, 2025, when payment is due.

For more information or to obtain an order form, contact Kennedy at 319-269-2284. Forms and payment may be mailed to 607 Fifth Street, Traer, IA 50675, or dropped off at AWE Auto Service where Kennedy works.
