Ahead of the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election, Tama-Grundy Publishing reporter Ruby McAllister sent questionnaires to all the local candidates in contested statehouse elections. This week we feature responses from those running for Iowa Senate District 38: Democratic incumbent Eric Giddens of Cedar Falls and Republican challenger Dave Sires also of Cedar Falls. Senate District 38 is an urban-rural district spanning parts of three counties including the communities of Traer, Dysart, La Porte City, Cedar Falls, Elk Run Heights, Evansdale, Gilbertville, Hudson, Mount Auburn, and Washburn.
