Skid loader plus mulcher
News & notes from the July 15 Tama County Board of Supervisors
TOLEDO – It was a bright sultry Monday morning and the usual suspects gathered for July 15 Tama County Board of Supervisors’ meeting. Tama County Engineer Ben Daleske seemed to kick things off as he gave his report talking about the new skid loader purchase.
The skid loader came with a mulcher and a five-year warranty and ended up costing approximately $129,000, which was in the budget. Daleske also reported dust control on H Avenue. He was recently contacted by the company Samsara, which could take over GPS and other services for equipment, proceeding with a possible switch to Samsara will be a 30-day trial period. P Avenue still is being worked on by Iowa Bridge and Culvert, who will soon be done and moving over to E Avenue.
The second public hearing to amend the public comment ordinance occurred. There were a couple of comments from the public stating different objections concerning the ordinance. The supervisors passed the second public hearing of the ordinance.
The annual Heartland Risk Pool agreement was signed. Steven Peterson was reappointed to the zoning commission. Doug Sienknecht was reappointed to the VA commission.
The recorder’s quarterly report was approved.
Claims totaling $236,533.73 were approved.
