AMES – The La Porte-Dysart FFA Chapter took 13 students to the 97th annual Iowa FFA Convention, held at the Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. FFA Members participated in Leadership Development Events and Career Development Events at the convention including Prepared Public Speaking, Ag Broadcasting, Poultry Judging, and Team Ag Sales.

The results are as follows:

Lily Schmitz, Ag Broadcasting: Silver

Jillian Hanson, Prepared Public Speaking: Gold, Second Place

Chapter Quiz: Brandon Frush, Gold

Members in attendance also got to hear the keynote speaker, Dan Venticher, who is also known as the “Iowadairyfarmer.” Through social media, Dan advocates and educates people about the dairy industry.
