Slot machine encounter costly

It cost an Evansdale man more than what cash he may have lost in a slot machine when he allegedly dumped soda in it at 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 5 at the Meskwaki BingoCasino west of Tama-Toledo.

John Anthony Santamauro, 42, pled guilty to 5th degree criminal mischief and was fined $148 by Tama County Magistrate Richard Vander Mey.

Court information filed by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police stated the soda caused $186 damage to the slot machine.

Kendall Lee Lyons, 16, Dysart, was found guilty of unsafe passing following trial by Magistrate Vander Mey. He was fined and assessed court costs totalling $309. The Tama County Sheriff’s Office filed the charge.
